Connect ChatGPT

Bring approved Twin answers into ChatGPT through an organisation-managed app.

ChatGPT connects to your Twin as a remote app. An organisation owner and Twin administrator prepare the connection once; each user then signs in with their own identity.

Start here

Ask your organisation for:

  • access to the Twin app in your ChatGPT workspace;
  • your Twin workspace invitation; and
  • one useful question to test.

If the Twin app is already available, open Settings → Apps, choose it, and select Connect. Complete sign-in in the protected browser screen.

In a conversation, add the Twin from the + menu or mention it with @.

Copy this short prompt

Replace the example question, then paste this into ChatGPT:

Connect and check my Twin
Help me connect to my organisation's Twin and check that it works.

Do not ask me to paste a client secret, token, password, or cookie into chat.
First help me find the Twin in Settings → Apps.

If it is available, guide me through Connect and sign-in, one screen at a time.
Then help me enable it in this conversation and ask:
"<replace-with-my-question>"

Show me which published Twin knowledge supported the answer and any available
evidence or workspace link.

If the Twin is not available, tell me exactly what to ask my ChatGPT workspace
owner to enable. Do not try to work around the organisation's app controls, and
do not answer the business question from general knowledge instead.

If the app is not available

A ChatGPT workspace owner must prepare and publish the custom app before members can use it.

Send the owner this request:

Request the Twin app from my owner
Please enable our organisation's approved Twin app in ChatGPT and grant me
access. I will connect it with my own identity.

Please use the Twin connection pack supplied by our implementation contact.
Do not send OAuth secrets through chat or email. Let me know when the app is
published and visible in Settings → Apps.

Owner and Twin administrator setup

The owner enables developer mode where required, then opens Workspace settings → Apps → Create. Use the remote app address and OAuth details from the organisation's connection pack.

ChatGPT and the Twin administrator must agree on the exact OAuth callback address. Enter client details only in protected settings, scan the available tools, test the read-only journey, then publish the app and configure who can use it.

Each member still connects the published app and signs in with their own Twin account.

A prompt cannot enable the app

ChatGPT cannot grant itself workspace access or create the Twin's pre-registered OAuth client. An owner and Twin administrator complete those protected steps.

OpenAI documents the current member flow in Apps in ChatGPT and the owner flow in Developer mode and custom apps.
