Start your first Session

Give your agent a clear goal, add the right context, and continue the work in one place.

A Session is where you ask an agent to do a piece of work. It keeps your request, the agent’s progress, the result, and any follow-up conversation together.

Create a Session

  1. Open Agent in the top navigation.
  2. Choose New Session.
  3. Describe what you want to achieve.
  4. Add a file or Channel context when it will help.
  5. Start the Session.

You can also use the new Session button from the Sessions area.

Write a useful first request

Include three things when they matter:

  • The outcome: what you want the agent to produce.
  • The context: which customer, period, project, or document matters.
  • The shape: how you want the result presented.

For example:

Review the attached customer notes. Summarise the three main delivery risks, show the evidence for each one, and finish with the next action and owner.

You do not need to write a complex prompt. A clear business goal is usually more useful than a long list of technical instructions.

Add the right context

Depending on your organisation, you may be able to:

  • attach a file;
  • start from a Channel or saved view;
  • refer to information already available to your organisation’s Twin; or
  • continue an earlier Session.

Only add context that is relevant to the task. More information does not automatically produce a better result.

Follow the work

The Session shows whether work is waiting, running, complete, or unable to continue. You can stop running work when needed.

When the result is ready:

  1. Check that it answered the intended question.
  2. Review any supporting evidence, files, or links.
  3. Ask a follow-up if the result needs to be narrowed or developed.
  4. Share or continue the work according to your organisation’s access rules.

Find the Session later

The Sessions area lets you search and filter work. Depending on your access, you can see work assigned to you, work that needs attention, running work, and failed work.

Sessions can be renamed, paused, resumed, archived, or removed when the available action and your permissions allow it.

A Session uses your access

Starting a Session does not give the agent broader access. The agent uses only the organisation, Channels, data, and capabilities available to you and allowed for that task.
